This is a copy of an e-mail that I sent to a post that Zman made entitled 2nd chance. -http://forum.sosen.us/index.php?topic=1885.msg7976#new

I am so excited for 2008.

We’re going to turn this shit around and shove it up their ass. Sorry, Got carried away there. LOL

Staff, we have another opportunity to join forces and create. What I do know is, several heads are better than one.

This is a positive and we must establish a relationship in order that we become stronger and a force to be reckoned with.

Feed back please.

My name is Rod Wagner, RFSO and staff member of sosen. At present I am heading a committee for a symposium to be held at 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK. on May 2nd 2008 between the hours of 1 to 5 PM. The theme of the symposium is “More Harm Than Good.”

Guest speakers are Sarah Tofte of the Human Rights Watch Report “No Easy Answers.”

Cheryl Griffins, who will represent sosenfamily which is a group of victims and survivors of sexual abuse

Joann Pratt who spoke at the Ohio Sex Offender Rally on Dec 1, 2007

Dr. Steven Davidson will also speak

We are approaching Dr Jill Levenson

Spokes person from the Ohio Public Defenders Office

ACLU, Oklahoma

and many others.

This is NOT a sex offender rally but rather an educational symposium to educate the public, the citizens of Oklahoma.

20/20 will air on March 7, a program entitled “Sex in America.” You don’t want to miss it.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you.

Hi Rod,

I looked at your mission statement and am happy to see so many folks building this national network…

I think one of the biggest problems is the psychological treatment industry pursuing all kinds of
congitive modification, and behavioral modification through strict, and sometimes over strict
regulations and restrictions. It goes against Ellis, and other pioneer’s in the behavioral modification field.

I have a great deal of knowledge in this area, and must say, I’m concerned. If you look at what
little statistics were available prior to all these new laws, they appear to be the same as they are now. I tend to think there’s a much bigger, hidden, agenda.
If 80% of the offenders released from prison do NOT re-offend over a 10-15 year term, that’s
reason enough to believe that maybe these particular laws are not cohesive with genuine reform, and cannot lend to reduce recidivism. I believe other avenues must be pursued.

The relapse prevention model, during treatment in prison, is a great way for guys to learn. However,
having participated in, and graduating from one of those programs, I can tell you that there’s a lot of
problems with them. In My State, Massachusetts, the DOC was contracting agencies that employed interns
which in turn led to a lot of problems. I believe that after 5 years of probation, a guy is pretty well established, or at least enough to carry on with life without creating another victim. But there are cases where treatment models, particularly those calling for self incrimination or be punished, are more detrimental to genuine rehabilitation.

The latest legislative trends smell a lot like McCarthyism to me. That’s how these laws were passed.
I would be happy to speak with you about legislative reform, and more importantly, treatment programs in America’s Correction Systems. I am no fan of ATSA, MATSA, etc… I found a great deal of psychotherapeutic hypocrisy that just wastes public resources.

Anyway, you can reach me at 978-710-3474. By the way, my folks are from Tulsa.

Thanks for the email,

Thats a question that I do want to ask him. For sure.

I joined his site, I don’t see a texed forum as I didn’t look all that hard. but he has Skype for audio communication. I’ll have to get head phone and mike. I’m not quite sure how that works.

This man Walter, also known as TMaximus95 is a MAJOR find. I spoke with him at length He is not just putting a link to us but we have our own Button on his Home page. Also he has 100’s of blogs and each will reference sosen.us.

We need a “Button” on our Home page and return the favor.

It should link to this url: -http://www.2nd-chance.info/

He is going to join forum.sosen.us and has extremely valuable information that I request he post. We need to approve him ASAP.

He very intelligent and well thought out. He is also doing a cost analyst that will blow your mind. I think right now, his figures are 168 Billion a year to house and monitor RSO’s and that at this point is probably conservative.

Good job Lets!

REALITY CHECK:

TMaximus95:

It’s my belief that the government has no business dictating to any family what age their child is able to consent to sexual relations.

Some children mature earlier than others. I don’t think that the government has a right to undermine or subvert human nature or childhood development, especially when it comes to human sexuality because love, (and sex is a part of love) is something that’s natural.

And kids need to learn how to love, they need to be taught how to love.

We know a line has to be drawn somewhere but sex is a normal growing experience and is not a horrible crime when there’s no force involved. It’s all a part of everyone’s life

my crimes involved the manipulation and bribery of several teenage boys (age 14 to 16 years old) to allow me to have sexual relations with them. My crimes were not physically violent. That is, I didn’t force anyone into anything, but I did use money and gifts to gain their cooperation.
